オーストリアのリンツ出身。継父が洋服工場を営んでいた事もあり、若年にしてテーラードに興味を持つ。オーストリア　グラーツでファッションデザインを学び、ヴェネチアのファッションコスチューム総合大学で紳士、婦人服のテーラーに関する学位を修得。後、ミラノのドムスアカデミーにてファッションデザインを学ぶ。1996年秋冬コレクションにてデビューするやいなや、直ちにその特異な個性を発揮する。確固たるテーラリングの技術によるプロダクション、膨大な時間と労力を費やし開発されるマテリアル。そして深く掘り下げ探求される物作りに対する拘り、作り出される作品は、パーソナルな視点からダイレクトにアプローチされる。

Born in Linz, Austria. As his stepfather was working in a clothes factory, he started to show interest in tailored at a young age. Learning about fashion in Graz, Austria, he used the knowledge then to move on to graduate the Fashion Costume University in Venice, Italy, with the degree about both men’s and women’s tailoring. Later on, he attends the Domus Academy in Milan, to gain further knowledge on designs in fashion. As soon as he hit the stage on debut in the 1996 A/W collection, his uniqueness grabs the attention. Detailed and skilled production based on the fixed theory of tailoring, materials that are made in vast amount of time and effort, and the passion for the optimum outcome with the product makes the item to be personal and direct.
