Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University, majoring in painting, Tomoaki Okaniwa is the designer of The Virdi-anne. Although his field originally was fine arts, he self taught the concept of fashion. Begins the Men’s collection of The Virdi-anne from the 2001 S/S. Starts exhibition in 2006 at Paris. The word “Verdi-anne” does not have a fixed definition, but is a word inspired by the colour of viridian, a colour mixed with chromium oxide and green.

The Virdi-anneのデザイナーである岡庭智明は東京造形大学絵画卒業。ファインアート出身でありながらファッションは独学で学ぶ。2001年S/Sから The Virdi-anneのメンズコレクションをスタート。2006年から波利にて展示会を行う。 The Virdi-anneの意味は特に設定しておらず、絵の具で、酸化クロム化合物を含む緑色の顔料、ビリジアンからインスピレーションを受けた造語である。
